WISCONSIN CORPORATE TEAMBUILDING
EVENTS, SEMINARS, ACTIVITIES & WORKSHOPS

Team Building in Wisconsin
Although the exact beginnings of the name are uncertain, "Wisconsin" is thought to be an English version of a French adaptation of an Indian word. The Ojibwe word Miskasinsin, meaning "Red-stone place," was probably the name given to the Wisconsin River, which then was recorded as Ouisconsin by the French, and changed to its current form by the English. Other theories are that the name comes from words meaning "Gathering of the Waters" or "Great Rock." Wisconsin originally was applied to the Wisconsin River, and later to the area as a whole when Wisconsin became a territory.

Known as "America's Dairyland," Wisconsin produces more milk than any other state.

Wisconsin is also known as the Badger State because of the early lead miners who spent so much time digging in the ground. The badger has been closely associated with Wisconsin since territorial days, it was not declared the official state animal until 1957. Over the years its likeness had been incorporated in the state coat of arms, the seal, the flag and even State Capitol architecture.

The state is home to the Green Bay Packers, one of the most successful small-market professional sports franchises in the country. The Packers' home stadium, Lambeau Field, is considered by many football enthusiasts to be "hallowed ground." The University of Wisconsin Badgers football program enjoys a similar loyalty; both teams are known to sell out their entire schedules far in advance.

The House on the Rock was designed and built in the early 1940s. It is considered an architectural marvel and is perched on a 60-foot chimney of rock. The 14-room house is now a complex of rooms, streets, buildings, and gardens covering over 200 acres. The Infinity Room contains 3,264 windows.

Wisconsin visitors and residents enjoy the state's 7,446 streams and rivers.   End-to-end they'd stretch 26,767 miles. That is more than enough to circle the globe at the equator.
